Cristiano Ronaldo claimed the Best Player in the Middle East award at the Globe Soccer Awards 2025 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Ronaldo Beats Elite Competition

Ronaldo topped a strong shortlist to secure the honor. Notably, he finished ahead of Salem Al-Dawsari of Al Hilal, Karim Benzema of Al Ittihad, and Riyad Mahrez of Al Ahly.

As a result, the award highlights his continued dominance in Middle Eastern football.

Strong Performances for Al Nassr

Last season, Ronaldo delivered an outstanding campaign for Al Nassr. He scored 35 goals and added four assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

This season, he has maintained that momentum. So far, he has netted 12 goals in just 10 matches. Moreover, his recent brace against Al Okhdood extended Al Nassr’s winning streak to 10 games and kept them top of the Saudi Pro League table.

A Familiar Honor for Ronaldo

The Globe Soccer Awards often draw comparisons to the Ballon d’Or. Once again, Ronaldo stood at the center of the ceremony. He has now won the Best Player in the Middle East award three years in a row and six times overall.

Elsewhere, Lamine Yamal captured the Best Striker award. He also received the Diego Armando Maradona Award for his attacking impact.

At the same time, Paul Pogba celebrated a memorable evening by winning the Most Impressive Comeback award. Finally, Andrés Iniesta received the Lifetime Achievement award, marking his legendary career.

The Globe Soccer Awards Gala takes place annually in Dubai and attracts global football figures. This year, organizers hosted the event on December 28 at the Atlantis Hotel.
