In a rare collaboration, football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have joined forces in a new advert by LEGO. The campaign arrives ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and showcases a special themed collection inspired by the sport’s biggest stars.
The advert brings the two long-time rivals together in the same setting. At the same time, it reimagines them as LEGO minifigures. Through this approach, the brand highlights each player’s personality and legacy in a playful format.
Star Power Expands the Collection
In addition to Ronaldo and Messi, the campaign also features Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior. Together, the players introduce a collection designed to connect fans more closely with the game. As a result, the campaign blends global football appeal with LEGO’s creative identity.
Inside the LEGO Collection
The new range includes collectible sets that celebrate each player’s journey and signature style. For example, fans can explore “Football Highlights” builds that recreate iconic moments. Meanwhile, larger “Football Legend” sets focus on Ronaldo and Messi as central figures.
Each set features detailed designs with hidden elements for fans to discover. Moreover, LEGO places the builds on letter-shaped bases that reflect each player’s identity. These designs incorporate national team colors, jersey numbers, and collectible plaques.
Ronaldo’s set uses an “R”-shaped base inspired by Portugal’s colors. It also highlights his CR7 branding and includes references to key moments in his career.
Similarly, Messi’s set features an “M”-shaped base in Argentina’s colors. It prominently displays his number 10 and captures one of his iconic moments on the pitch.
A History of Shared Spotlight
Although the pairing feels unusual, it is not the first time the two stars have appeared together in a campaign. Before the FIFA World Cup 2022, they collaborated with Louis Vuitton. In that campaign, both players appeared in a widely shared image playing chess on a luxury case.
