Paris Saint-Germain secured a place in the 2025–26 UEFA Champions League final after drawing 1–1 with Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena on May 7. The French champions advanced 6–5 on aggregate following a dramatic two-legged semifinal.
Early Goal Gives PSG Control
After a thrilling 5–4 victory in the first leg at Parc des Princes, PSG entered the return match with a narrow advantage. Moreover, the visitors strengthened their position almost immediately.
In the third minute, Ousmane Dembele capitalized on an opportunity to score, extending PSG’s aggregate lead to 6–4. Consequently, coach Luis Enrique saw his side settle into a more confident and controlled rhythm.
Bayern Push Forward but Fall Short
Although Bayern Munich dominated possession and increased pressure throughout the match, the German side struggled to convert chances. Meanwhile, PSG remained dangerous on the counterattack and created several opportunities against Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Neuer delivered multiple key saves to keep Bayern alive in the contest. Without his performance, PSG could have extended their lead much earlier.
The home side finally found an equalizer in stoppage time. In the 90+4th minute, Harry Kane scored from inside the penalty area to make it 1–1. However, Bayern ran out of time before mounting a comeback.
Arsenal Await in the Final
PSG will now face Arsenal F.C. in the final. The English club advanced after defeating Atlético Madrid 2–1 on aggregate in the other semifinal.
At the Emirates Stadium, Bukayo Saka scored the decisive goal in Arsenal’s 1–0 second-leg victory. As a result, coach Mikel Arteta guided Arsenal to their first Champions League final in 20 years.
Final Set for Budapest
The 2026 Champions League final will take place on May 30 at Puskás Aréna in Budapest.
The matchup promises to be one of the most exciting finals in recent years. PSG will chase a second consecutive European title, while Arsenal hopes to lift the trophy for the first time in club history.
