Apple Unveils iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: A Major Leap in Camera, Performance and AI

Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, bringing a new variable-aperture camera system, the A20 Pro chip, longer battery life and a more capable Siri AI experience. The new Pro lineup marks one of Apple’s most significant iPhone upgrades in recent years.

Apple Raises the Bar With iPhone 18 Pro

Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 9, 2026. The new flagship models focus heavily on four areas: camera performance, processing power, battery life and artificial intelligence.

The Pro models also support faster charging. Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro can reach 50% charge in around 15 minutes using wired charging, while the Pro Max can deliver approximately seven hours of video playback after just five minutes of wired charging.

A Smaller, More Useful Dynamic Island

Apple has also refined the Dynamic Island.

The redesigned version occupies less space while providing additional functionality. It can now display up to three Live Activities simultaneously, giving users more information without requiring them to open individual apps.

Apple says C2 improves cellular quality and reliability while consuming 15% less energy than the previous C1X system. The phones also feature Apple’s N1 wireless networking chip, supporting Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread.

Current reporting puts the starting prices at $1,199 for the iPhone 18 Pro and $1,299 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, representing a $100 increase over the previous generation.

Pre-orders begin September 12, while retail availability begins September 18. Vietnam is among the markets included in Apple’s first wave of pre-orders and availability.
